    O'Hara rejects Motherwell offer?

According to this story in the Peterborough Telegraph his agent turned down our offer of a 3 year deal.

Posh have agreed a £50k fee with Motherwell for the 24 year-old, but for the moment he is back at London Road.

Posh director of football Barry Fry said: “Mark did well at Motherwell and I have done a deal with the club who have offered Mark a three-year deal, but his agent turned it down.

“It’s staggering really. Three years is great security for a player in these unpredictable times and Motherwell have qualified for Europe next season.”

O’Hara moved to Posh from Dundee in July, 2018 and scored four goals in 29 appearances.

Let’s hear wait O’Hara himself has to say. Suspect agent isn’t happy with his percentage of deal to bad. Club have to ascertain immediately if O’Hara wants to sign for us or not, if he does great if not we move on and look for a replacement ASAP

There's always a risk that pride stops people cutting their losses as needed to get the deal done but in a situation where Peterborough clearly want shot of him, we clearly want to keep him and the player clearly (publicly at least) wants to join us, you'd think a solution is likely eventually.

Our friends at the Peterborough Telegraph have another twist in the Mark O'Hara saga...

St Mirren have now joined Motherwell in the race to sign the 24 year-old. O’Hara enjoyed a successful loan spell at Motherwell last season, but has so far failed to agree terms with the team who finished third in the Scottish Premier League to qualify for the Europa League next season.

Posh director of football Barry Fry said: “I spoke to Motherwell’s (head of recruitment) Martin Foyle yesterday (June 19) and he said he was determined to get Mark signed up so I told him to hurry up as I’d now agreed a fee with St Mirren for the player.

“I have no idea why Mark hasn’t signed for Motherwell already. Martin told me the player’s agent had turned down a three year contract even though they’ve qualified for Europe, but then his agent has been difficult to deal with in the past.”

O’Hara said it was ‘news to me’ when the PT broke the story about the three-year contract offer last weekend.
