    Can we possibly keep Pope?

Golden Gloves almost glued on, Chelsea, United, Arsenal urgently in need of a new first choice goalkeeper.

    £50 million and he's gone?

On the plus side the top six clubs look worldwide for their players, and will be getting plenty of calls from agents about their clients playing in Spain, Italy, Germany etc. They do seem to have an aversion to English keepers as well as English managers, so maybe in the same way that Sean won't be going to a top six club, maybe Pope won't either.

Manchester United will presumably want Henderson back to be their number one and save on a transfer fee. After yesterday’s demolition by Chelsea a new central defender will probably be on their radar so we may be fending off bids for Tarkowski as well as Pope and McNeil. Everton desperately need a new keeper as Shorty Pickford has had a dreadful season and Ancelotti has told him in no uncertain manner he needs to improve rapido. It is indeed a funny old game even when it’s not funny. Ask Nigel Pearson about that. I can’t see Sean taking the Watford job even if they do manage to stay up. Not with that set of pirates in charge.

There seems to be a trend for the top clubs to want a keeper who can play out from the back so we shall see.It will also be interesting to see who England pick as their No.1 in the next few games.I'm not too concerned because I feel we have another good keeper on the bench. We are also very lucky in that we have Kevin Long who seems quite happy with his role,he doesn't get many games but he does well when we need him.

My feeling is that this is as good as it gets so just keep enjoying it.SD for Watford?(Again) - You must be joking,I would imagine he'd be more likely to tell them where they can stuff their job.

Apart from the money, which will be nice, why would anyone want to work for a club like Watford ? But then, the money is so nice, why would anyone not want to work for a club like Watford. It seems like they've shat on Pearson, but when you consider how much he's earned for his little stint there, which will be more than in I earned in a lifetime, you can't be too upset for him as he cries all the way to the bank.

Don’t think much of your prediction. My prediction is better- he’ll stay at Turf Moor.

I’m going somewhere in the middle 45 million which is cheap for Chelsea in that they paid upwards of 80 million for Kepa , I do have a sneaky feeling that Leicester will be the club that’s coming for Tarky / Taylor or both.

I’m not saying they’ll all leave but I wouldn’t put it past The club pushing for at least 2 of them to go to balance their books.

It’s a massive dilemma for the club as the money is all positive on one side , but the real risk of annoying Dyche is the critical bit of me unless they’re going to give him say 80 million to spend .

So the Dyche question leave or stay hangs in the balance I think , regardless of the sales of above players if the club refuses to back him financially this term I think he’ll be looking to get out , it’s a big year for the board in my opinion.

Unless of course our recruitment team have found some diamonds for no money who are itching to play for Burnley in the Premiership 😂👍

    50 million?

Of course he's gone; its the way we have always operated.

I would think 25 million and he's gone.

The fact we have kept hold of him this season is as much to do with Covid getting in the way rather than keeping our talent.

But that's the way we have always been.

We will probably pick up someone else with raw talent for 6-8 million and pocket a good sum in the process.

Equally it has as much to do with Pope, his development and the limited opportunities Burnley can offer.

    So its a win win.

I have this feeling he'll still be here at the start of next season.
