    Don't throw out.......

.... those odd socks. Their partner may just be playing hide & seek

I used to have 2 pairs of "friction free" running socks. Wonderful socks that have served me well down the years and still have loads of life left in them. Especially considering I don't run anymore due to arthritis in both knees causing me great pain if I run 2Km or so on asphalt. Weirdly, I can, without any knee trouble, run as much as 10 to 12KM when reffing a football match......

Anyway, about 18 months ago, I found myself down to just the 1 pair. No sign of the 2nd pair anywhere. About 6 months ago half of the missing pair emerged from its hiding place. Now, most folk would think that the odd sock isn't worth keeping and throw out the most worn one. Me, being the eternal optimist, kept it in my sock drawer. Last week, hey presto, the other prodigal half returned and I'm now back to 2 full pairs of comfortable and very usable socks instead of just the one, Mrs Wembley.

Be patient, the odd sock(s) will return......

..... as will the good times for our football team. COYR!!

Is that where the phrase "sock it to me" came from GP?
