Couldn't help but reflect that Oduor & Chaplin were seemingly relegated to the 2nd eleven
Chaplin doesn't seem to be fitting in to Struber's plans
    Is he an unsettling influence?
Hope not as I think both him & Oduor are good players

I think Oduor has now got an opportunity to cement the left back role with Ben Williams out for the season Exile .

I see Schmidt and Chaplin as direct competitors for the striking position and Chaplin is significantly ahead of him based on last season .

Possibly Struber thought he needed a bit more quality in the second half and kept those two back rather than a complete second half team of stiffs .

It will be interesting to see what the starting eleven is for the first game against Luton because if you think back to when the season restarted after the lockdown .

Walton , Simoes , Andersen and Palmer came from know where to start at QPR and all did very well .

I reckon places are very much up for grabs with Struber and this pre season will maybe give the likes of Schmidt the opportunity to impress .

He joined us late last season , virtually on the eve of the season and never really had the opportunity to bed himself in with friendly games .

I think personally the squads got stronger without us actually realising it with the emergence of several players that came up through the ranks when the season restarted .

Of course you can always improve , an option of a big physical striker would be something to consider , with Ben Williams out for the season I'd be looking at bringing in a left sided defender , possibly on loan .

If everyone stays this window other than that I think we are pretty much good to go this time .

The last thing we need is having five or six new arrivals to bed in after last summers shenanigans .

The current squad has definitely earned the right to be tasked with the job this season without too much alteration in my opinion .

It's a pity there are still about six weeks left until the transfer window closes. Chien has a history of being late sellers in the window.

Only seen highlights of crewe game and it was a change to see our keeper Walton commanding his area with gathering crosses and punching the ball out of the area which previous keepers didn't
