MillersMad Matchthread - Wycombe v The Milllers

Welcome back to football folks. It's not exactl what we're used to but it's the best we can hope for until this COVID bâstard thing gets sorted. Anyway if you're not in the stadium you can't moan at the guy 6 seats away not wearing a mask because he's attatched to an oxygen cylinder.

I must mention my favourite club director at Peterborough. Thanks for the entertainment over the summer. You made yourself look a right tool with your tweets. I can't tweet this to him because he's blocked me along with many other Millers that pointed out how much of a tool he was. Enjoy League 1!!!!

We were on a bit of a bad run when the league was stopped that dropped us down to a lowly 2nd thus gving us promotion along with Coventry with Wycombe who had been up there since the early part of the season but had dropped down to 7th int league. With the league finishing early and the much discussed PPG system saw them fairly replace Peterborough (oh dear) and then go on to win the Play offs thus be promoted with us and Coventry.

We can't continue with that bad run like last week because there won't be the same oppertunity of putting a run together like last season. We need to hit the ground running and to be honest this fixture could be the best fixture to start a season. Pity they have no floodlights to stop me righting this with a bloody hangover. That's how dedicated to alcohol I am. regardless of what's happening I'll try and have a tipple! Call it dedication if you like but I'm sure there's other things it could be called.

If either team win by 2 clear goals then top of the league beckons!!! Got to be an incentive for a couple of hours at least. We've only ever beaten them thrice and the biggest win wa 2--0 so that if copied will be enough!

As everyone in the world will have the same view this season, that of a screen then all of the opinions at the end will be identical! Hurray Millers in agreement! Seriously the agreement should be that this season we have a better foundation that many other seasons gon by. We're still a couple of players light but it'll come and we will remain in this league!

Enjoy the match guys and dolls

Cheers Froglet but go steady on the tipple. 😊

I’d take a draw away from home today but naff to that, we need the 3 points to set off on a good start.

    0-2 Ladapo brace.

    | Blackman; Harding, Ihiekwe, Robertson, Mattock; Ogbene, S. MacDonald, Lindsay, Sadlier; Crooks; Ladapo.

SUBS | Johansson, A. MacDonald, Jones, Wiles, Miller, Vassell, Smith.

Looks like Blackman gets a second chance. Lets hope he takes it.

Smith dropped. He was crap at Salford so fair enough but think we might need a battering ram today. Surprised Wood not sub but could be injured. wiles sub as well wonder if he is not fully fit.

Let's see how it goes..arguably we have a better team put out for a championship opener than the Brentford one a couple of years back.

I would still take a draw now. Point on the board and haif way up the table at the end of the day...it will then be up to us to keep there...no more straight to the bottom like at the end of last time's first championship game thanks!

Possibly second half. Hope Smith realises now he can be dropped and he applies himself better when called upon.

Agree Brin. Pressure needs to be kept on Smith to perform. His form is important to us having a decent season this year.
