    Bahre can leave

Mike Bahre looks set for a move away from Barnsley after head coach Gerhard Struber admitted the German midfielder is not in his plans.

The 25-year-old has been at Oakwell for two seasons, firstly on loan then permanently after signing last summer.

But he has struggled for gametime under Struber, who replaced Bahre’s mentor Daniel Stendel in November.

Bahre – who started last season as Barnsley captain before losing the armband to Alex Mowatt – has scored three goals in 69 Reds games.

Struber took him off twice before half-time then only played him in one of the final nine games of the season.

Struber told the Chronicle: “Mike is not involved at the moment and he is looking for a new club.

"We will give him the chance to find a new club and, at the moment, he is not in my plans for the next season.”

Has good technical skills but never seemed to enjoy "gerrin stuck in and closing darn" (now called "pressing" by coaches ). The ex coach's man really.

Has now the misfortune of competing for a place in midfield with players of Ritzmaier's quality. Ritzmaier will be in the same position when the next coach rocks up.

Thaz gorrit wrong theear mi owd. .

Dunt forget Paul oversaw twelve coming in last summer and declared it the most successful transfer window in BFC history.

Mind you we are in the middle of the two year cycle with that group before we re-stock in numbers again.

According to the club website we are down to a 1st team squad of 25 now which includes Victor who for some reason has no number Ben W unavailable, Bahre on the way out so we may start the season with the smallest squad for many years

And with key players to be sold towards the end of the transfer window ( Oct 5th ) we need to get a few more Austrians / Germans in.

I'm wondering if he's going to be offered in a cash plus Bahre offer to try and get Whiteman from Donny .

Seems a strange time to tell a player he's not in your plans two weeks before the start .

He must have known Bahre wasn't in his plans for some time .

I agree with SB. Bahre has technical ability but basically he is aif a yard too slow and inconsistent with it. On his day he can do damage. He's done oreight for us in fairness. Good luck to him wherever he ends up
