    Number of deaths from Covid-19

On tonight’s BBC1 news the caption showing the number of deaths reported in the last 24 hours in the U.K. now highlights in small print ‘The number of deaths reported where someone has tested positive from Covid-19 in the last 28 days’.
Another caption also highlights the number of deaths in the U.K. to date with again in the small print ‘The number of deaths reported where someone has tested positive for Covid-19 in the previous 28 days’.
Why can the health authorities throughout the U.K. and Scotland not tell the truth and quote the exact number of people who have only died from Covid-19 having previously tested positive in the last 28 days.
At present someone who had a positive test for Covid-19 on 10th September 2020 and died in a road accident yesterday afternoon (5th October 2020) is being included in the daily and total Covid-19 deaths totals.

Followed wrong modelling and instead of admitting it both Govts perpetuate the hysteria.

Ferguson's 1st model suggested 1.5 million dead and 70% of over 75s hospitalised.

He then came back with half a million dead.

Sweden which had a very loose lockdown should have at least 80k dead or so now under the Ferguson model....they don't, nothing like it.

Until they backtrack or find a way to backtrack without losing face (vaccine) this game of hide and seek will continue.

It's politics now, nothing more, nothing less with weak opposition.

The main stream media don't report, don't investigate and don't scrutinise they regurgitate what politicians tell them.

I don't really see an end to it.

I agree with everything thing you say.
Politicians never apologise when they make a mistake. They will say that they have been misquoted.
Nicola is lapping up being in the public eye and having her daily press conference being televised live on BBC1 Scotland.
Scotland is the only part of the U.K. that has a daily press conference televised live at 12.15 pm Monday to Friday as we watch Bargain Hunt on one of the other BBC1 channels throughout the U.K.
it is more than a passing coincidence that the number of positive Covid-19 cases in Scotland suddenly started to increase the Monday after BBC1 announced on the preceding Friday that they were stopping televising live the Scottish Government’s Press conference
Interested people could still watch the Scottish Government press conference on the BBC online channel.

Not disagreeing with any of the above but how can anyone turn misreporting of Covid statistics (which we've been pointing out on here for months already) by the UK government into an attack on Nicola Sturgeon and the Scottish government?

You need to put aside your hatred of all things SNP and your love of all things Tory and take a proper and clearer view of what's happening Islay.

Nicola was furious that her daily live press conference which was being televised live on BBC1 Scotland was ending and she complained bitterly that not everyone had access to the internet.
I find this a very strange comment especially that if people want further information about the current Covid-19 virus they have to access it from the Public Health Scotland website.
You may think that the SNP controlled Scottish Government is wonderful. I certainly do not.
There is a well known saying ‘it will all come out in the wash’.

I was happy that the daily briefings were done away with. On one occasion I went from BBC1 to BBC2 to BBC Scotland and it was live on all three channels. Absolutely ridiculous IMO.

I can't remember saying the SNP controlled Scottish government is wonderful. Perhaps you can enlighten me as to why you believe this to be the case.

Worth noting that not everyone can get the information they need about Covid-19 from the Public Health Scotland website as, believe it or not, not everyone has access to the internet.

I'll repeat though that, in my opinion, you need to put aside your hatred of all things SNP and your love of all things Tory and take a proper and clearer view of what's happening. Your constant vilifying of anything SNP whilst not criticising the at least equivalent incompetence being shown at Westminster is a bit ridiculous in all honesty.

It will all come out in the wash and, although I'm not their greatest fans, I'm pretty sure the Scottish government won't come out of it any worse than your mates in London.

Did Herr Sturgeon not say Scotland was on course to be COVID free by the end of June?

Although this is slightly off topic Nicola has today been ‘found out’ withholding information about a meeting she had with Alex Salmond’s aide
where she was told about harassment complaints against Alex Salmond and she forgot to mention it in her written evidence.
No wonder the SNP and Scottish Government were trying to avoid having to hand over written information to the current Alex Salmond inquiry.
God knows how Nicola Sturgeon thinks that she can run an independent Scotland when she cannot remember a meeting with Alex Salmond’s aide regarding a harassment complaint against the former First Minister of Scotland.
It will be interesting to see what else comes out in the wash,
