    Flanagan a zebra in Belgium

He played a bit like one here. Hope he enjoys the lager, buns and sprouts.

He spent two seasons at Ibrox, starting 19 Scottish Premiership games, the last of them coming in a 2-1 defeat against Hearts at Tynecastle in January of this year.

He was released by the Scottish club and has been without a club since until today. He’s joined Charleroi, nicknamed The Zebras, on a one year contract with the option of a further year.

His career stated like a house on fire, Gerrard eulogised his debut, an England cap quickly followed then he developed "Billy Big Bollox" syndrome and his career stalled.

When he was here, I thought he had been wildly overrated and Gerrard has obviously changed his opinion of him.

Train hard, play hard and keep your eye on your career. Dwight take note?

Didn't he have a serious injury, and we got him on his way back, he was supposed to play himself back into full fitness on loan with us. I thought he would be a good signing for us, and then he played against Accy Stanley in a League Cup match and they ran him ragged, alarm bells were ringing after that, and they never really stopped, he just never got any better.

Story in a Newcastle site that Dwight was available for £35m in the summer and we would let him go. His agent had alerted them. They’re debating if they missed an opportunity. Sean had signalled we couldn’t keep him.

It seems strange that he then signed a new 4 year deal with us.
