    COVID Call offs vs Injuries

Noticed past week or so a few clubs callling for games to be and having games called off because they've lost 5/6 players which got me thinking what is the difference, in reality between us having 6/7 players not available due to injury rather than COVID.

COVID largely for PL clubs can be preventable if they have players following strict protocol whereas injuries are not. So is it right that clubs get a free pass, should they not, just like we currently are, have to play the kids and do their best?

Also, anyone got some dodgy lateral flow tests for our players to give some false positive and give us a few weeks off whilst players get back?

I like your thinking but ‘sadly’ it would not be the Bielsa way

Barely minutes after typing this- Dan James now injured also

Make that: Phillips, Bamford, Rodrigo, James, Koch, Struijk, Cooper, Shackleton and Firpo all unavailable for Arsenal. I know it wouldn't happen but that legimately + Meslier and Forshaw be a starting 11 for us

A correction to your post. Covid is not preventable. It's now an endemic animal reservoir virus that is highly contagious. All mammals as well as every continent's animals, including Humans, have it in their ecosystem. The virus mutates at a faster rate than companies can develop vaccines. Eventually we will all develop immunities to it like strains of the common cold and flu.

I agree 100% with your thoughts on an "outbreak" that would give us a game or two break to heal up.

I agree with your thinking 100%. The difference is COVID19 can spread and it is possible that exposed players who test negative at the moment may spread the virus, whereas injuries are not contagious. Nevertheless, I do agree with you, clubs shouldn't get a free pass. Here in the States, you play, even if you can barely field a team. You play. League were weak last season with Man City so precedence was set.

Be amazed if we stay up this season as everything seems to be going against us.

A mere wee hiccup mate! We’ve 4 month yet…..although I did pick up a couple bottles of Jameson Black Barrel just to get me through this next little phase.

Chins up peoples - Bielsa has listed to MOT for so long his subliminally is delivering the ups and downs - It’ll be reet.

Very very strong rumours of 3 or 4 incomings - Brereton, Swift and possibly another winger (why do we need another) and. Another Midfielder - but who knows!

A perfect example was yesterday when Burnleys match was called off 2 hours before kick off due to so called covid in Watford squad, who just happened to have 5 injured players.Makes uyou wonder doesn't it.

Maybe they should have a month's break starting now.
