Here for the long haul or oblivion beckons?

I was in the camp that once Ardley had crossed all the t's and dotted all the i's then we would be a formidable team. Clearly that is not happening and at best we'll be in play-offs this season as we've just lost too many games to be automatic promotion candidates.

The Reedtz bros are unlikely to bring in a replacement until NA's contract is finished as I don't see them spending on two managers, or maybe they might next Christmas when there won't be so much to pay out.

But there's no guarantee another manager will succeed, and in any event there will be a transition period so promotion in his first season will be a fanciful wish, unless he's a Cotterill Mk2.

By then support and interest will have dwindled, even the Reedtz bros might be questioning their decision to own a fifth rate club. In which case oblivion may well beckon, especially if there is a further relegation on the cards.

I'm not feeling full of Christmas cheer with a rosy outlook on 2021. Bah humbug.

Me neither. One saving grace is you can count on the fingers of no hands what Ardley has achieved since he's been here. 2 wasted years.

    It's the $64,000 question.

Will Notts be a Wrexham or a Lincoln?

    A Darlington or an Oxford?

    A Hereford or a Cambridge?

Will Notts fans have the patience to find out?
