    Get a grip Sam

A 33 year old on a 18 month contract, now a 37 year old goalkeeper (Lonergan) as supposedly back up to Johnstone, how many more OAP’s is this dinosaur going to sign, club going backwards at an alarming rate

It’s just about the very short term, Sam’s job is to keep the club in the Premier League, next season and beyond is not within his remit. God knows what Lai will do if, as expected by us, we go down to the Championship. His chances of selling the club then for even half what he paid for it will have nose dived and the preparation for a promotion push will not have been done.

Very ageist comment. How do you address a young inexperienced squad? Now let me think?

A balance in terms youth and experience is a good fit.
Enthusiastic youngsters and proven seasoned professionals
But let’s face it many of our experienced players did not exactly hit the heights in previous campaigns.

Bartley could not get into a relegation doomed Swansea team.
    Peltier , who ?
Austin, forced out of the door at Southampton.
Phillips Mr inconsistent in form and consistent with injuries
Livermore , a very average player when he actually stays in the pitch, discipline has ALWAYS been poor
Gibbs is the only exception, but sadly is now unable to produce due to fitness issues.
Im not going to talk about ivanovic as he casts a poor shadow of his former self, like watching an old dog try to run for a stick, so sad.

Well said. Livermore did have a good focused spell before the promotion, he did well playing a safe conveyor belt role for England too, but the focus has been bad for a lot of our players. Gibbs is class. My Arsenal mate says that he was thought a lot of at Arsenal, he was really sad to see him go. Good player. hope he keeps fit.
