    Everton Post Match Thoughts

Well it wasn't the drubbing that many had expected and I'm guessing Everton are glad that one's over with. We put up a good fight and that's the difference between being able to bring over 100M worth of players off the bench v being able to, bluntly speaking, bring on players that are 2nd choice in a team 23rd in the Championship. We had them worried in the 2nd half and maybe should have put it to bed before extra time and extra tiredness set in. Tree was wilting so had to be replaced when he was and I thought Tricky Trev showed a few good touches.

    Thoughts?

The lads did well and gave them a game, think they might have been let down by the choice of one or two subs tbh
    Olosunde motm
Hold your head up lads and take it into the next game

    We did well.

A good performance, hopefully no injuries that might work against us in the Championship survival stakes

Good comm on Talksport! Very complementary about how we played. Hopefully this will give the players the belief that we can get a result away from home after all it was 1-1 at full time.

Vassell is the worst forward i have seen in a Rotherham shirt . Cant control a ball and doesn't provide anything for the team. Are Salford still interested ? On the other hand Olosunde is fast becoming a very good player and its good to see him attacking defenders like he does . Overall a good run out and on another day we win that game .Once we made a couple of subs we are very weak a striker is badly needed and send Hirst back he's useless as well .On to the next game with hopefully a couple in

Transfer that form to the league and who knows we might be OK.

Vass, sorry again did nothing to prove his critics wrong

Vassell & Hirst would not score in the old Cricket club (Rawmarsh) I’m not disappointed didn’t expect to win & we made a game of it.Well done lads.

A tale of the substitutes theirs improved the team ours didn't apart from Clarke who did well . Could and probably should have won it in normal time . I think we would have lost on penalties anyway

Matched them for 90 minutes and in that period arguably had the better chances.

It was a shame that with our current lack of depth we haven't got game-changing subs to bring on. Clarke did well going forward and didn't have too much defending to do, so maybe the jury's out on whether he is a left back. Would like to have seen Miller on, but don't think that left side would have worked with Clarke as well.

Some criticism of the subs on here, but Crooks looked off the pace after an hour to me. Vassell brought nothing, but as I say not many options.

Olosunde MoM for me, even before he scored, he also looked like he was slowing down when he was taken off, Understandable.

Happy to have seen a cup game that we have competed in. Wouldn't it have been great with a replay at NYS with a crowd?

Unfortunately I was unable to watch the game but listening to Ronnie on Dee-Dah we certainly gave a good account of ourselves.
Disheartening to go one down early on but we picked ourselves up and played brilliantly for 70 minutes.
Shame to lose but I would have been much more disappointed if it had been a league game.
Well done lads. Now let's kick on in the real priority to stay in the championship
