To many footballers now are happy to just pick up a monstrous wage (In comparison to the average Joe) and not play for personal pride or because of an attachment to a club with the feeling of responsibility that should go with it. They step off the coach with designer haircuts probably manicured nails looking the part but that's what matters what they look like more than what they play like it seems.
