Separate Test and Trace schemes are not working

Separate Test and Trace schemes for Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland are not working.
Last Autumn a friend on Islay had to travel to Liverpool to attend a funeral.
His NHS Scotland Test and Trace app was already logged into his phone but when he stopped at a motorway restaurant in England for a break his NHS Scotland app did not work.
He had to go back to the tried and tested method of giving the manager of the motorway restaurant his contact details on Islay. Apparently the NHS England test and trace app does not work in Scotland.
In my opinion there should have been only one NHS test and trace app which works throughout the whole of the U.K. and until that happens the COVID-19 virus will never be defeated.
