Clocks ticking Animal, all will be revealed but currently sounds non like Chien & Conway style of doing things
I take the point things could change before 11pm tonight in which case this post is open to ridicule .
For the sake of argument let's say he doesn't leave today .
Absolutely no way will Mowatt sign a new deal at any point after 11pm tonight when he gains free agent status on the first of July .
What is it with this club ? , when you can see the sense in selling a player and at least gaining a million quid as oppose to absolutely nothing they hold firm .
Whilst Mowatt looks forward to his huge signing on fee in July the club now have left themselves short financially to replace him or bring in a left wing back which allows Styles to move in to midfield .
Mowatt could have gone to Millwall and the money put towards Harry Pickering from Crewe or another suitable lad .
Fecked themselves over big time here in my opinion .
Mowatt doesn't want to be here next season and in my book that converts to not wanting to be here from 11pm tonight as well .
The club have allowed Mowatt to call the tune and now that tune is continuing to be called by a player who doesn't want to be part of the club long term .
It's ridiculous .

With a relatively stable league position , can't go up and unlikely to go down that surely had to come in to the conversation Chop .
The way I see it , he walks away in July for nowt with the championship table having everyone on the same number of points .
We all know recruitment is funded by selling players so they are actually going away from the strategy in return for keeping a player very likely to feature in a good number of dead rubber games , well hopefully at least .
I can't make out where the value is allowing him to run the contract down .
I just find it highly unlikely he's going to commit to a new deal at Oakwell when there's every opportunity to pocket a huge signing on fee and no doubt better his wages elsewhere .
If he wanted to be here in the longer term he'd have signed a new contract already .
The club should in my opinion have forced him out of the door and told him in no uncertain terms that if he's still at the club on February 1st don't expect to play here again for the rest of the season unless you sign a new deal .
I take the point Alex is a good pro and he's served this club very well and it's a harsh thing to do but this is business and the emotions have to be kept out of it .
It's the future of the club's prospects on the field that come first and not one individual player who is playing us like a fiddle .
But it's not about Mowatt Nudge and the club have allowed themselves to be put in a position where this situation is ALL about Alex Mowatt .
It's pretty pyss poor management in my opinion .
Think about this another way Nudge , Mowatt walks away for nowt in July that could mean we have to sell somebody we'd sooner keep just to repair the situation .
Can you see any sense in that ? .
Blackburn have signed Crewe Alexandra's 22 years old left wing back Harry Pickering for £650k .........£650k ffs !!!

Given the track record of our owners its a surprise they didnt take the money from Millwall (i would rather sell my soul to the devil than sell anything to them). Maybe there are signs that Mowatt is going to sign but I rather think they are holding out for an improved offer.
We would most certainly be better off with a mill + in the bank to use for a replacement and pay dog and hoss a bonus, but for the moment that isnt going to happen. All will be clearer by midnight.
I rather hoped Poggy would be shedding some light on possible incomings but nothing from him today so far.
If that Pickering lad is as good as you think Animal Blackburn might have a bargain at 650K
Impressed me in the pre season game we had with Crewe and I've kept my eye on the lad ever since .
Amazed Blackburn have got him for that kind of money Ethel , clearly the financial impact of the pandemic has played out here with Crewe possibly having to take a below value offer to keep themselves in business .
Missed a trick here in my opinion .
Don’t get me wrong here cos I’m certainly not a big fan of the lot who own and run our club, however they can’t win with some of us?
They get slated for not holding on to players because of our league position and how it might harm our chances of staying in a league or for flogging them when we are close to the play off’s.
Then when we hold on to one to not de-stabilise the team we give them another slating!
Situation is frustrating all round because he's a very good player, arguably the best player at the club. I've felt tired by the whole situation to be honest and let rip the other week which I think wasn't necessary.
The way I look at it now is that Mowatt has served the club very well, without him we possibly wouldn't be in this position. He has given and still is giving 100% on the pitch. He and the club have agreed this current contract that he's on and he isn't breaking any rules, sulking or playing with a chip on his shoulder.
If he plays the season art I wish him all the best and the rest of the Barnsley fans should too. We've had a memorable promotion when he was at the forefront, the great escape last season and this season he's been better than ever. Wiv ed our money's worth.
