The surprising and not surprising aspect of the Dike signing

Yes I know it’s another initial post about Dike - but this one isn’t about him in particular.

When the new owners arrived at the club they appointed:
    Ganaya.
    Morais
    Stendel
    Struber
    And now Val.
    They also acquired European clubs.

Ok - the managers all follow a similar style of play - but my initial thoughts when these managers and CEO were being employed was that the club are appointing them so strong links with European players could be formed.

From the start of their ownership I’ve been expecting highly rated young players in the few million pound mark (such as Dike) coming over from a European side.
Yes there have been players from Europe in the 500k to 1m bracket - but none as expensive or with the same level of expectation as what the Dike signing is.

So now we have an American CEO it’s not surprising to me that a relatively expensive young American talent like Dike has been signed.
But where are the similar Europeans?

Is it Brexit that’s stemmed the flow?
Probably not because these managers and CEO were there a few years before the Brexit deal was signed.

It would be interesting to hear what Dane Murphy has to say about this.

    1. The last three coaches brought in were all unemployed at the time, therefore cheap and available. (Ismael sacked for breaking Covid rules)

    2. Stendel's style of football was very different to the hoofball stuff we now get under Ismael.

    3. We haven't signed Dike.

I believe Struber was employed by Wolfsberger when we brought him in.

Correct Pass . I'd forgotten abart Struber already.

Mek that "three of the last four coaches--Morais, Stendel and Ismael--were unemployed". By the way, I don't know if this is well known, but Ismael was sacked for breaking Covid rules at LASK.

    Good one Acido.

A good lesson in life by the way.

I don't know if you know this but I am very wary of anything Conway or his employees say,

    1) So it was a coincidence they were all European?

    2) The strategy of the club is to play the pressing game. All managers have a slightly different approach - but it is only slight.

    3) According to the club - Dike has signed on an initial loan contract with a view to a permanent deal.
If he settles - plays well - then he’s ours.

Ahh yeah SB, I think you might have told us that your not sending valentine's cards anymore to Sir Conway. Or words to that effect.
