I had a letter from the doctors this morning saying that they have been trying to contact me for my vaccination.
I am a bit like Bin Laden and change my phone regularly.
Anyway I phoned them and asked if my wife could come as well since she is asthmatic.
They said she is two groups down from me and will be contacted in due course.
I find this odd because I am only 15 months older and am as fit as a butcher's dog.
I have to go to Kingswinford community centre which is just up the road, but my neighbours who go to the same surgery were sent to the Black Country museum.
My Aunt and Uncle who are in their eighties were told to go to the millennium point in Birmingham. When they said they couldn't go that far they were told to go to their doctors which is just around the corner.
So despite being told to stay at home it's okay for old people to go on public transport to Birmingham or the BCM.
None of the rules have made sense to me from day one.
I see Heathrow airport is as busy as ever.
Hi, I had a text this morning asking me to book an appointment at the Lyng
I am still sceptical about the effect of it as i am with the Flu jab which I have never had.
But I am looking at the bigger picture and if the vaccine does get things back to normality I will do my bit. I don't want to be accused of everyone being stuck at home through " people like you."
I did read that the Africa has rejected the vaccine as it as little effect on the new strain, so I don't know what to think.
Just doing my bit for the benefit of others.🙂
The problem is that there is a lot of misinformation out there coming from ill informed sources. Most of it is absolute rubbish. Nobody has all the answers but if you listen to the advice of the scientific experts they must possess a greater knowledge than some nondescript on the Internet.
Nobody HAS to travel long distances to get the jab. In the letter it says if non of the offers given are suitable then wait for your surgery to contact you.
My wife was offered last Thursday 2 bookings one 30 miles away and the other 40 miles away. Yes I could have driven her, or she could have driven herself. However, as mentioned in the letter we decided to wait for our local surgery to contact her.
She had the vaccine yesterday at our local surgery from our Doctor. She could now of course, being over 70, contact the surgery to book an appointment if she hadn’t already been contacted.
No brainer, just get vaccinated.
Once everyone has had their jab and you’re able to buy the vaccine I might investigate whether there’s any benefit in taking the various vaccine options.
I’ve always been a “belt and braces” type of bloke, if other vaccines can cover most of the 20% to 30% risk that your original type doesn’t give you then I’ll do it.
I’m no expert though so I don’t know if this is possible?
Where’s Dubbag when you need him!?
Ain’t it funny that the news going around stating that it’s not that effective against the SA variant, and it is officials in SA that have said this.. then we get Boris to on TV (the expert official to dispel those theories), like he adds some sort authenticity and we should believe him. That to me tells me what I need to know.
