    Help Needed - Bly V Rochdale 4th Dec 1993

    Hi everyone,

Could anyone please furnish me with the scorers and times of goals for the 2nd round FA Cup game between Burnley and Rochdale, played on Saturday 4th December 1993?

I have found some basic information and know that Eyres got his hat trick, Darren Ryan scored own goal, but am struggling finding any more info such as Dale's scorer and goal times.

    Any help greatly appreciated!

If my old memory is correct I think that's the season we drew 0-0 at home with Liverpool in the 4th Round and lost 1-0 at Anfield in the reply.

Me and my lad went away in the 3rd Round to Cambridge I think, and we won 4-1 or 4-2.

I cannot for the life in me remember playing Rochdale at home in the same season.

I will have a look in the book!

Welcome to Clarets Mad by the way.

I went to that Charlton game, miserable day, half built ground and their fans behind us doing what fans behind you do. Didn't even sell pies.

Just been confirmed early dementia has set in. I'm sure we went to Cambridge and not Charlton Athletic!

I'll have to dig my programmes out, I went to a Charlton match in the early 90's so assumed it was that one. They were rebuilding a longside at the time.

It was this match as we won in the league that year. Cambridge v Burnley in the cup was the following year, we won 4-2, 7th Jan 1995

Just looking at the gate for that Rochdale game almost 30 years ago, 11,388, we wouldn't get that many on for a similar cup game nowadays. The magic of the Cup, it's gone innit.

If we played Rochdale in any sort of Cup game now, we all know what the outcome would be.

That's why we can't get 11,388 on now, (Covid aside).
