Barnsley v Reading Match Thoughts

So here we go in to the business end of the season against an opponent one place behind us and two points in 6th position .

Whether this is a must win or a must not lose game is open to debate .

Personally there's an awful lot to be gained on friday by getting the three points .

We come back from the defeat against Wendy and put the show back on the road .

It's a physiological hammer blow to Reading who have the hardest run in .

It's a hammer blow to Cardiff and Bournemouth trying to chase us down .

It installs belief in the players , staff and fans that we are indeed going to the play offs .

A draw just keeps everything in the air and offers the opportunity for Bournemouth and Cardiff to close the gap .

A defeat whilst it wouldn't be catastrophic would certainly be concerning .

Hopefully everyone is rested up and ready to go again and get us over the line .

We've come this far now , let's finish the job and make this an 11 game season and not 10 and certainly not 8 .

Must not looiz fo me, not that i think we'll ever adopt that attitude under Val. Wiv sin int last match wi Sheff Wed that no matter what position a team is in, it's always a tough game in this division. Am tipping 1-1 ageeanst Reading and a dunt think al be far off wi that prediction. Reason a seh that is because Reading certainly can't afford to looiz either. Am backing it ennyrooard at 5/1

We have a very good defence that give away very little , we have strikers who score goals .

Every man out there knows his job and are very well coached .

This is a one off opportunity that may never come around again , at least in my lifetime .

The players and staff want to be in the PL next season , they haven't come this far with 8 to play that I do know .

I'm nervous as much as I'm excited because nobody but nobody expected this .

We have to seize the opportunity , it's our friend , it's not our enemy .

Play to our ability and we will win the game , we have the players and we have the HC .

Me im just over the moon at how far weve come... gone are the days trudging darn t well expecting a hammering.. Reading haven’t won in their last 3 games and have won one of their last 5 away from home, that win was at a poor, lacking confidence Bristol City! They have recently lost away at Birmingham and Wycombe both sides who get in your face just like we do???
I think our physicality and pressing will result in a comfortable win today, I’m going for 2-0.
