I think he is talking about the Covid restrictions Sinkov.
Sean said after the game that it had been a 'challenging season, both on and off the field'. No need to wonder about the 'challenges' on the field, we know all about them and there were plenty, but what were the 'challenges' off the field as far as he was concerned ?
By 'challenges' he means difficulties, problems, but he works down Gawthorpe, Garlick never got involved down there, Pace says he keeps his nose out as well, that's Sean's domain. So what were the problems and difficulties caused by the change of ownership, as long as they get paid I doubt the players give a FF who owns the club, the money situation doesn't seem to have altered, there was none before, there doesn't seem to be any now, in what way is the new ownership making problems for him. What are they up to that's making his job more difficult, because that's certainly what he seems to be implying ?
I think he is talking about the Covid restrictions Sinkov.
I think he means the players being isolated away from home and the whole team set-up suffering from the COVID bollox.
Onwards and forwards sinkov.
Just had the chance to watch the entire programme, I know you don't get to hear everything they say, but only one manager mentioned Covid, Pep, and he said it affected everyone, none of the other 19 talked about 'off-field challenges'. It wasn't just that either, he mentioned 'frustration', no other manager did, he said he had to be careful what he said, of the 20 managers he was by far the most negative, possibly the only one in fact.
It reminds me of an interview he did after a game in his early days at the club, we'd won but picked up two injuries, he was asked about the injuries and the reporter started with, 'On the negative side....'. Sean cut him short, 'I don't do negative', he said. He does now. Unless something changes at Turf Moor, I don't think he's long for this club.
He could have been hinting at the injuries we suffered and the change of ownership issues, which must have affected him around Christmas time sinkov.
We will soon see.![]()
When I was in my prime and outselling just about every salesman in the country, the company I worked for got bought out by a Swedish company.
To say it all went tits up would have been an understatement while they put their trademark all over it.
I empathise with SD and applaud him for his resilience, this season must go down has is best ever while sitting in the manager's chair at Turf Moor. Lesser men would have crumbled.
