    Favourite XI

    Let's have something positive!

What is your favourite XI who you have seen play at Notts?

Everyone has their favourite for different reasons. This was off the top of my head and given more thought might change!

    1 . Eric McManus
    2 . Dion Kelly-Evans
    3 . Ray O'Brien
    4 . David Hunt
    5 . Mike Edwards
    6 . Brian Stubbs
7 . Steve Carter (All time favourite)
    8 . Don Masson
    9 . Mark Stallard
    10 . Iain McCulloch
    11 . Tommy Johnson

    Subs
    Tony Hateley
    Bob Worthington
    Les Bradd
    Pedro Richards
    Kasper Schmeichel

Don't spoil it by criticising someone else's choice!

Due to moving to Nottingham in 1989 and falling in love with the Mighty Magpies from then on my favourites are as follow

    Cherry (GK)
    David Pipe (R
    O’Riordon (L
    Yates (C
    Short (C
    Draper (CM)
    Turner (CM)
    Thorpe (LM)
Roberts (RM) I know we have barely seen him
    Hughes (CF)
    Johnson (CF)

Not gonna bother with subs and their are probably a fair few more from 90’s that would be in this.

I've not used loanees. I think there's also room for several others, Sheehan, Bradd, Carter, Hateley, Turner, Hooks, Kilckline, Palmer, McSwegan, Yates, McParland, Devlin, Johnson (Michael) and probably a few more.

I could happily go with that apart from Judge, not because he wasn't a good player* but because of his attitude after Curle was sacked, I thought he came across as a grade A nob, couldn't srand him after that and was glad to see the back of him. For that reason I would never consider Jude Sterling for my all time worst XI. In retrospect, Sterling calling Judge a "F-in Idiot" was a highlight when it was clearly picked up on the pitch side effects mic during the Juventus game when Judge came short to offer himself for a quick throw (Long throws being Sterling's speciality of course).

*Then again, all he ever did for us, for the most part, was hit the woodwork.

I only met AlanJudge on a couple of occasions and both times I thought he was alright. I suppose this is a perfect example of how opinions can be so different, I mean, take Neal Ardley for example … actually, no, let’s not

Ooh this is a good one, will change formation but not necessarily the best but definitely favourite!

    GK - Ward

    RB - Finnan
LB - Dennis Pierce (probably spelt that wrong)
    CB - Redmile
    CB - Strodder
    CB - Edwards

    CM - Turner
    CM - Ramage
    CM - Davies

    ST - Stallard
    ST - Hughes

Saying that, it is a pretty decent team as well
