    Sutton Utd

Just watching the end of the game V Hartlepool. They're 3-0 up and about to go up, yet the fans sound like it's just a normal league game.

Crap ground, crap fans. Sounds like there's about 50 people there.

Notts fans would have been singing from the start to the end but this is a total anti climax.

No doubt they have been the most consistent team and deserve it, but wow. What a tin pot club.

Begrudging comments like that don’t make Notts fans look good either. Well done Sutton totally deserved.

Think they were allowed just over a 1,000 fans in so hardly their fault. As you say, you win the League on results.

Yeah I know. I'm just jealous. Hope we will be playing them next season.

    Harsh!

The Sutton fans look pretty overjoyed now. Perhaps it was just sheer disbelief before the final whistle went.

The bottom line is they've earned it. We beat them twice, but we threw away a dozen or more stupid points against lesser teams while Sutton got the job done. You could say (for another instance) Accrington Stanley are a tin pot club but they're overperforming in League One while we're underperforming in the National League. We need to learn from clubs/teams like this and ask why they're getting more out of their resources than we've got from ours in recent years.

Having said that, it's just starting to look as though IB is creating something that will see us start to properly fulfil our potential, whether it comes to fruition this season, or takes a little more time. No team has ever won the National League play-offs from 5th place or below, but we're going into them in good form, and the law of averages says it's bound to happen sometime!

Eastleigh away is their only defeat to a side currently below the top 7.
Won every home game against teams 8th and below except two draws (v Daggers and v Alty).
Record against top 7 isn't that great (six defeats and only 3 wins in their 12 games against play off placed sides), but it just goes to show that if you win your games against the bang average and the strugglers, you can win the league.

I watched Hornchurch win the FA Shield yesterday and their fans had scarves which read 'Just a pub team from Hornchurch'. When interviewed after the game, their striker was asked about it. He said that a side they played in the competition had said that about them and it motivated them.

I would imagine it was our fans he was referring to.

It's good for their fans and everyone connected with the club so that's pleasing, it shows you what a good loan signing can do. Us to go up now though, I'm looking forward to the playoffs!

Congrats to them & best wishes in L2. The table does not lie - they were the best team.

But I wonder who beat them H and A... uh... the same team that had the double done on them by bldy Aldershot. It's a funny old game Saint.
