6 attempts on goal, only 2 on target .

How do you expect to win a game with statistics like that ?

After sixty minutes the game was crying out for Grealish. Southgate brought on Sideways Henderson and the game was lost.

Southgate's lack of a pair of cojones was exposed again last night.

Leave the England job my mate and go back to flogging pizzas.

It’s a tough game Mal when you don’t have the ball , our philosophy is wrong for games like this we don’t have the ball enough to hurt teams.
Personally I’d rather have lost 5-3 in normal or extra time than lose like we did on pens .
The manger imo made mistakes , bringing on 2 players with a minute to go to take penalties when they hadn’t kicked a ball , and then leaving it to the baby of the group to keep us in it , Southgate of all people should have known the pressure , implications etc etc .

It wasn’t well thought out at all and senior players went missing in the game and for penalties

Southgate one way or the other, needs to be clearing his desk out today.

These chances come up once in a lifetime. Southgate has had two chances and blew them both.

    Away you go Gareth!

Not sure if it was lack of cojones or just what it was BT, I'm just completely befuddled as to why he didn't bring Grealish on. We were under constant pressure, we couldn't keep hold of the ball, we needed an outlet, someone who could hold the ball up, take the pressure off, win us some free-kicks, give the Italians something to think about. Grealish was that man, but Gareth didn't want to know, god knows why.

I often think it's useful to put yourself in the opposition's shoes, and do what they would least want you to do, I can guarantee you that the last thing Mancini would have wanted to see, with 20 minutes to go, would have been Grealish coming off our bench, but Gareth ensured he didn't have to worry about that.

Southgate is a defensive minded coach sinkov and unfortunately for millions of disappointed England fans, it showed.

He lacks the cojones to go on the offense and we need to get shut, but the FA are also without the cojones to do it. It's bollox.

The FA can, and will say, he's squeaky clean, he has no baggage, he's woke, he's a brilliant PR man, the media love him, he got to the semis in his first tournament, he got to the final in his second, so carry on Gareth.

You, me, and all his detractors on here, can howl at the moon for all the good it'll do. We're stuck with him.

He’s not going to do that I don’t think CIB

He’s obviously a very intelligent man , to go
From turning the job down and not wanting it to a semi final and a final and a manipulative nature that the FA just love , regardless of the football.

Thoroughly decent man.I do not think he is intelligent at all Army.He had two very easy draws and the first time they came up against a good team they lost. The FA definitely love him though. The acceptable face of failure.
