No Messing About - AMs in

Mowatt is in, come one, lets get in a decent centre half too and get Pereira to stay for a season

Typical Albion tho, Mowatt and Messi are out of contract and we’re only interested in Mowatt. We definitely lack ambition

Sorry to stick my beak in (again!), I think Helik will be your next signing from us - it's like a viking raid !

I'd mentioned before with Mowatt he's good at this level but think he lacks the pace for the PL, but he knows what Ismael wants and how he ticks so would imagine he will be especially valuable in this regard. It will be interesting to see how he plays with better quality around him each week, as the season before last he cut a frustrated figure as he seemed to have little support in the middle under Struber.

We'll see what our new Austrian coach has to offer - I think (only assuming) that the Big Val departure was probably well known by us for a while as it normally takes us a month or 2 to appoint someone yet Schopp was appointed within the week. He's apparently similar to Ismael with no nonsense football.

Your always welcome on here renno. Mowatt is a great signing for us as he reminds me a bit of a hard working Mulumbu who was a fab ex player!

To be honest like the style of Val - my way or no way and honestly think he will be a great success with us.

Looks like a very decent signing and a player the manager wants, and that is a real bonus in itself. I was never sure about many of the incomings when Bilic and you know who was involved.
At the beginning of last season in my opinion our midfield was the worst in over a decade. Most of here knew they were not fit for purpose in the top division.
None of our initial central midfield made it into Sam team at the end, Gallagher aside that is.
We do have Snodgrass who I’m sure will be in his thoughts but with Harper and Field gone he is a shoe in at the moment. Cant see Liverless and Sawyers impressing the new guy

    Much appreciated.

Old val has this habit of getting the most out of players who might’ve lost their way or who thought their days were numbered-as long as the take his ‘my way ‘ option. Let’s be fair most decent level footballers are detached from reality , yet trot out this ‘fans pay their hard earned money’ crap when they don’t have a clue about hardship . So when a manager comes along and rules with an iron fist then they have 2 choices! I reckon some of your players won’t know what’s hit them as there’s no soft touch malarkey with big val

I’d mentioned it on a previous post that although direct we played some good stuff - another so called hoof ball manager of his era -Dave Bassett , rocked up at oakwell with a reputation yet we played some good stuff - simply because we had quality (not that we can say this often over the years) and we lost in the playoff final. I think you’ll play some decent stuff this coming season , yet do what promotion teams have to do - win ugly occasionally. I don’t care what folk say I’d rather play crap and win , than play well and lose

Agree BaggieSingh buddy. Reading renno’s remarks, maybe Helik would be a decent acquisition ?
