Notts will now be Wrexham's first home game

Wrexham's match against Yeovil Town has been postponed due to Covid-19.

Their first home game of the season will now be against Notts County. Let's go and spoil the Hollywood ending. COYP!

Jeez. The season hasn't even started yet and we've already had a game called off for Covid. Doesn't exactly fill you with confidence that this season won't at least face more disruption than a bad winter. Probably won't be as bad as the last two seasons but nothing can be guaranteed. Hope we don't end up looking at the PPG table again for the truer reflection.

I see Dover are already up to their old tricks too, their opening game is off v Solihull.

They know full well they are going down and I would imagine the directors will look to cut costs wherever possible.

I guess the one positive is that Solihull and Wrexham are now going to play their league fixture that day, with Yeovil and Dover (always Dover) being forced to sit it out due to COVID outbreaks.

Has anyone seen what the rules are re COVID this season? We had Reuben test positive, for instance, but that didn’t affect us, friendlies-wise. It also makes you wonder how many players are still unvaccinated (won’t stop them getting it, of course, but should lessen the seriousness of the condition).

Aren’t the rules changing across England regarding isolation? I thought it was this week that anyone who is double jabbed would no longer need to isolate unless of course they test positive.

From Monday, double vaccinated don't need to isolate if they've had a close contact, I suspect that might cushion the blow of a Covid case in the camp I suppose so you won't have as many players out so might not be as much disruption?

As double jabbed people identified as close contacts are still at risk of being infected, people are advised to consider other precautions such as wearing a face covering in enclosed spaces, and limit contact with other people, especially with anyone who is clinically extremely vulnerable. They will not be required to self-isolate while they wait for the results of the PCR test.

Double vaccinated adults will no longer be required to self-isolate from Monday, as long as they received their final dose of an MHRA-approved vaccine in the UK vaccination programme at least 14 days prior to contact with a positive case.

Anyone who tests positive following the PCR test will still be legally required to self-isolate, irrespective of their vaccination status or age in order to break onwards chains of transmission. Meanwhile anyone who develops COVID-19 symptoms should self-isolate and get a PCR test, and remain in isolation until the result comes back.
