And Willock was with us last season so we haven't even stood still but gone backwards!
I'll be amazed if we stay up this season
So this is the state of play on sky sports transfer centre:
Newcastle
In
Joe Willock - Arsenal, £25m
Out
Florian Lejeune - Alaves, undisclosed
Andy Carroll - contract expired
Henri Saivet - contract expired
Christian Atsu - contract expired
Lewis Cass - Newcastle to Port Vale, loan
Ludwig Francillette - Crawley, free
Jake Turner - Colchester, loan
Kell Watts - Wigan, loan
Matty Longstaff - Aberdeen, loan
Yoshinori Muto - contract terminated
Some hefty wage off the bill, I'd think at least £150K a week.
Yet, still we can't compete with anybody, nor offer wages that players might be willing to accept apperently.
**** sakes.

Add to that the £120 million for finishing 12th and the money saved for furloughing the staff....and is the tv money on top of the 12th place money or are the one and the same?
Oh, and the fact that our owner is a billionaire.
We are being taken for mugs and Bruce is happy to be part of the pisstake...the owner has gone above and beyond what he thought was possible and should be thanked??????
ffs
I cant believe why Bruce is getting so much vitriolic abuse for the inactivity during this transfer window.Try as he might,Messi preferred PGG & we would have had Ronaldo but for his refusal to accept a deal on a £100 pay per play deal.We were also in for a Macclesfield centre back but his preference was to drop down to the Isthmian league, All in all some really good attempts by the powers that be.

Obviously, Bruce can't be blamed for not bringing anyone in (unless he's told Penfold we don't need anyone so they haven't tried) but he can definitely be blamed for not keeping Lejeune.
Mind, on that point about Bruce's views on the squad as it stands. he was in the press recently saying we had enough up front so I'm guessing that's what he's told his superiors.
How many other clubs have said they can't buy anyone because of their squad size? Every team has the 25 man squad and brings in players.
