Two new signings and they're both injured ?![]()

At last the international break is over and Burnley can welcome back the group of players who have been away on duty with their countries. All should report fully fit with the exception of new signing Maxwel Cornet who suffered a dead leg while playing for Ivory Coast as they defeated Cameroon 2-1 in a World Cup qualifier. Cornet will be assessed before Monday’s trip to Everton but Clarets fans will be hopeful the versatile player will make his Burnley debut at Goodison Park and ,if he does, will be eager to see in what role he is deployed. Connor Roberts is still sidelined with injury and must wait to make his first start for the Clarets.
This fixture last season gave the Clarets a Merseyside double with an early Chris Wood goal followed by a stunning individual goal from Dwight McNeil as the Burnley midfielder turned Brazilian Allan inside out before curling a wonderful shot beyond the despairing dive of Jordan Pickford. McNeil remains an Everton target with Toffees boss Rafa Benitez keen to add him to his squad. McNeil would join a string of Claret legends who have made the move following the likes of Martin Dobson, Trevor Steven and Michael Keane. The Everton manager may well give a Goodison start to Salomon Rondon who he has signed on three separate occasions firstly for Newcastle, then Dalian Professional and now Everton. Rondon could partner Dominic Calvert-Lewin up front if the England striker can shake off a slight knock. Club captain Seamus Coleman is very doubtful having picked up a hamstring injury playing for Ireland v Azerbaijan. Richarlison is available for the Blues and Colombian internationals Yerry Mina and James Rodriguez could also figure. Winger Demarai Gray who has scored in Everton’s last two games at Leeds and Brighton should keep his place as Everton seek to extend their unbeaten start to the season.
When Carlo Ancelotti resigned in June to rejoin Real Madrid, Everton somewhat surprisingly turned to former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez to take charge. Benitez becomes only the second manager (William Barclay in the 1890s was the first) to take charge of both Merseyside clubs and knows that improving Everton’s home form will be key to winning over some sceptical supporters. He and the home crowd will be confident of building on an opening day victory over Southampton. Can Burnley spoil the party? COYC!

I hope so, but doubt it. SD will no doubt insist that he has to be Dyche fit and then get used to how Burnley play - no possession, lump it up to the forwards who immediately lose possession, with zero chance for Maxwel to show what he can do. He has also got to earn the shirt, as well. He is reputed to have pace, so he will have to get used to no one being able to keep up and be in the box.
Come on lads get yourselves Psyched up for the blue scoucers
