Look Through Any Window- Graham Gouldman , Cardiff , last night.

I had been really looking forward to this performance since before Covid , and after the long wait, the show definitely lived up to expectations. Here was an artist , mainly known for his work with 10cc , but many people do not realise how many hit songs he has written in the past for artists such as Wayne Fontana, Herman’s Hermits, The Yardbirds, and the Hollies to name a few. He has also performed with Andrew a Gold, and been inducted into the Hall of Fame. No mean achievement for the boy from Manchester. To say he’s done it all, would probably sum it up nicely. During the 90 minute set, we were treated to all the hits from the artists i’ve Just mentioned , plus several songs from his own albums. However, what most of us wanted to hear ,were the songs he’d written for 10cc, and he duly obliged. It was great to listen to a more acoustic version of some of the big hits, and “ I’m Not In Love” ,got the biggest applause of the evening. Throw in the stories of how most of the songs originated in the first place, and there you have it. A nice gentle evening, with plenty of humour and professional performances from him and his band.He certainly did have a “Heart Full Of Soul”.

Thanks for the list. Yes he did play that one aswell. It is one of my favourites by the Hollies. The story of that song also happened to me, but it never quite worked out the way I wanted it to !!!

There was a documentary on telly about him a few years back and although knew he was in 10cc I was gobsmacked that he'd been composing good tunes for so long. He wrote "For Your Love" for the Yardbirds in 1965 FFS! (Clapton, Jeff Beck & Jimmy Page were all members around that time)
