    Tottenham Hotspur Stadium today.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - capacity 62,062 & changing times for football grounds & fans.
[Well it's the international break so why not]

Last week I picked up an old French book 'bout Evolution of Football grounds & it had a pic of a wet White Hart Lane before a 1954 Cup match against Leeds & another pic in same year of Everton Goodison Park getting its under-soil heating put in.Comparing those English grounds with the then exotic French stadia in pics of book showed the differing styles back then in how fans watched the game.

Spurs or as my Dad calls them 'Tottenham Hotspur' renamed the old White Hart Lane stadia the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - now printed boldly on all tickets.

Obviously like many he's never been to the 'new' stadium which includes the world’s first dividing, retractable pitch, with a synthetic pitch underneath for use during NFL games, concerts and other events. The single-tier in the South Stand was influenced by Borussia Dortmund’s ‘Yellow Wall’ and with a capacity of 17,500 and is the largest in the UK. Among the modern facilities are 60 food and drink outlets, 1,800 video screens, and the world’s first microbrewery based in a stadium - but visits still don't come with a health warning about the dreaded Seven Sisters/London tube exit walk to the ground.

As well as our allocated 3,000 seats in NE corner we also get 26 spaces allocated for our wheelchair users,150 seats for our fans with disability. To their credit Spurs have created more than 250 wheelchair accessible bays and has more than 500 accessible seats for disabled fans which are located on all levels at the stadium, fully accessible by lifts to give supporters a greater variety of viewing options which is terrific compared to the rubbish available at many grounds.

They also provide seating arrangements for our Blind fans travelling with their Guide dogs which I know Super Fan Nikki Allan and her doggie Annie are looking forward to - they both never miss a match and both sing/bark along with our travelling choral encore.

Sadly the match was moved for Sky - many Leeds fans [including myself cannot attend due to work].Others are desperately reorganising for a Sunday 21st November 2021 4.30pm KO,some sadly are selling to Agency buyers.

So plenty of positives awaiting for us at Spurs & hopefully an away win as well.

Quite liked the old ground for atmosphere but if you got unlucky you would be sat behind a pillar and not be able to see the game properly.

New stadium looks fantastic and seems to manage the trick between making it a fans stadium with atmosphere and maxing out the corporate hospitality.

The facilities with the stadium look good too.

I imagine the gooners aren’t that happy that their much vaunted stadium has been eclipsed.

New ground......crap team. Not many sides these days that move stadium and úpgrade' that then get better on the pitch.

Also, not a fan of these new fancy grounds, they just don't have the same football atmosphere or feel to them. Spurs is a better version of some of the others but still just feels wrong.

Few exceptions to that though - Arsenal is crap for atmosphere but the new Spurs stadium is properly loud. Southampton is a decent stadium as is MK Dons.

Wierdest new stands I have seen are at Leyton Orient

Plenty of hassle building that Spurs stadia, huge problems during the electrical fittings resulted in site chaos, shut downs, blamed on confusion & workers ill-discipline being reasons behind delays to Tottenham Hotspur’s £850m projected stadium. From early doors Spurs contracted deals individually with subcontractors and appointed Mace Group as a construction manager to oversee the job - delays actually put stadium costs nearer the £1 billion mark ultimately. Wow.

By choosing to have a direct commercial relationship with individual companies rather than appointing an overall contractor, the club limited Mace’s liabilities on the scheme and this arrangement led to subcontractors focusing only on completing their own tasks, without considering the wider implications for other trades or progress of the overall project. The lack of co-ordination or logistical planning frequently led to confusion on site and costly mistakes that delayed work significantly upping costs.

My Dad came to live in France to chill-out,do a wreck up with Mum & stumbled into finding natural building stone as nobody actually did it & he became a stone Finder/Broker for other French older property renovators to work with and costs don't half shoot up quickly for sure building wise.Every day now even I get emails from UK builder/construction folks trying to sell private bonds offering 8% annual yields in return for investment opportunities that require capital being raised.

The Mace Group were paid nearly £100m [a Harry Kane] by Spurs for its role in the construction of the team's new stadium my Dad told me as other main contractors were unwilling to bid on the fixed-price design-and-build form of contract preferred by banks for a stadium when they had lower risk opportunities in other sectors - such as office developments.

Can see why the Geordies are getting excited with the council penning land for all sorts of regeneration as our USA backers will in time no doubt regarding our stadium & surrounding land.
