    If you owned the club

If any of you owned a footy club, lets say this one for example, just how much 'hands on' would you want to be ?.
That's what annoys me about this lot, they have too much say in the signing of players and formations and style of play etc, and surely they are in it for financial gain only.
Gone are the days of a chairman/owner leaving that sort of thing to a manager, and trusting him and backing him where possible.

None I’m a fan! I’d put Warnock in charge immediately and let him tell me what he wanted.
Once safe in the close season I’d tell him to come up with lists of who goes and who he wants whilst I was employing contractors to fix the ground.
I’d buy the old school ground opposite and turn it into a fan park to raise funds for the club by under cutting every pub in tarn, whilst having reserves and u18’s playing penalty shoot outs with kids!
At half time I’d get them to bring a big board out with a hole in it and give £1,000 to anyone who can put the ball in it with 3 attempts.
We would have a song that blurted out when we score to get the fans going.
I reckon we would be in the Prem within 5 years?
Now to pick my lottery numbers!

If I was the owner - and had wealth of what these owners are reportedly worth.
I wouldn’t do much different to be honest.
I think the strategy of developing younger players and selling them on is a good one.
I’d endure the recruitment team were as strong as possible.

I would invite knowledgeable football people onto the board - say 2 individuals.
That is to say people with an in-depth understanding of the league we were in at the time - knowledgeable people that could assist the CEO, manager and training staff.

As for the ground - the Cryne family want to sell their 50% - and I would purchase that.
I’d give legal guarantees to the Council that their share of the ground would be safe - on the understanding that any money generated from a future sale of the ground would return to the board.

I was watching Paul Scholes talk about his disappointing time as manager at Oldham, and he said he couldn't put up with being told who to pick and drop etc.

That must be so annoying for any manager, but it is understandable when the owner is a life long fan and genuinely supports the club and appreciates the fans.

We will never get that connection with this lot and I wish they would leave!.

First time for ages I passed the ground yesterday afternoon , down Pontefract Road nr Beevor Court is a blue sign with 3 Capital letters on ( can't remember initials) underneath the letters it says Site Office , it could have been there a while ? Or is it new ?
