Not sure if this has already been said, but we are so desperate for options up top I would play Ajayi there until we can get someone in in January.
He's got a lot of attributes - he's good in the air, he's got a lot of pace and an eye for goal. And he can't be any worse than what we have got at the moment, surely?
I also agree, particularly in the light of current striker performances.
I have been surprised to see him on the bench in recent weeks. Certainly Kipper’s recent performances have improved, but IMO AJ is a better option. Indeed I would prefer him over Bartley in the centre.
Can he hit a barn door do you think?
Anything keeping him away from our penalty box is fine by me. In fairness to him he attacks the ball well in offensive positions.
Unfortunately he rarely jumps beyond his own height defensively as he's nearly always caught on his back foot at set pieces and seems to have difficulty judging the flight of the ball when in the air.
And his feet are too big for the rest of his body. How he manages to run at speed without tripping over is a genuine wonder of human biomechanics.
Yes play him as a number 9, i thought it myself
Remember the Pompy game.. He was the one who burst into the box at the end of the game for the the Phillips cross. Meanwhile Grant and Hughill were alomst on their way back to up the tunnel for a shower.
I had high hopes for him but his concentration lets him down in defense too many time for me.
But last season he did better than most in the prem.
Yes i'd give him a go, we really do have to change things now
I had hoped that the title of this thread meant that he’d downed tools and refused to play!
It would be interesting to give Ajayi a go at CF but as discussed on another thread, Val doesn’t seem to like to deviate an inch from his vision of how things ought to be. So, it won’t happen.
