    When I lived in France we were under a major flightpath for Les Grues, Cranes as we call them. We felt they heralded spring and then as they returned, the onset of winter. There were some quite spectacular formations and they were as noisy as hell.

    Reminds me of when we lived there Chris, we used to get phone calls from neighbours telling us to go outside and look up, they seemed to know the day they could expect the Cranes and even the time of day they'd be flying over.

    Beats me BT ,just maybe if they fly over the desert ? Many 'birds of prey, in the Jorden Valley ,over the deserts and south.

    Don't know about that BT, I would imagine not, they're big buggers, must be easier prey for a raptor to carry off.
