While Brentford’s home game with Manchester United on Tuesday and our match with Watford on Wednesday were both called off for Covid related issues, Brighton, who also requested a postponement, were instructed to fulfil their home game yesterday with Wolves. Leicester and Spurs both requested a postponement of tonight’s game at the King Power Stadium but have also been told the match must go ahead. It remains to be seen how many of the PL fixtures scheduled for this evening and for the weekend of December 18/19 will now go ahead. I am therefore going to postpone writing a full preview for the clash at Villa Park for the time being until there is a clear lead from the Premier League on the Covid crisis it is facing.

The more I read into the reasons for the decision to postpone this game, the more suspicious I become.

It's clear to me the game should have gone ahead. I'll bet SD is fuming.

I like it, re-arrange this game for later in the year, after we've got the January recruits in and Monsieur Max is firing on all cylinders and it works to our long term advantage.
