    5 Substitutions/ no way.

So, this old argument has cropped up again , by both Guardiola and Rangnick- a manager who has only been I. The PL for 5 minutes, but who is expressing an opinion like someone who has been here for 25 years.
I’m against it. I don’t see any of the lesser well off coaches suggesting it. For a club like ours who has trouble fielding a half decent team ,, we would be swamped by the opposition. And we wouldn’t be the only ones. It’s a classic case of the big clubs trying to flex their muscles. It’s not a level playing field as it is. Another reason why I dislike the PL and the way it’s going. It’s pretty apparent , they want the likes of us out of there. It cannot be allowed to happen.

It seems to me every club were scheduled to play at the moment has slapped in a postponement request saying they can’t even field a team of eleven plus 3 subs and now they want 5!

What gets me is that clubs are requesting postponements because of Covid AND injuries. Since when have injuries been grounds d’or a postponement ? There were times last season when we could barely name 11 players with three goalies on the bench and some U23’s. I don’t recall asking for a postponement being an option.

Benitez is concerned about Calvin - Lewinsky coming back too soon. That is one of the reasons.

I believe that teams register 25 players in the First Team squad. That means they could field two teams with three on the bench.

    What is going on?

I agree Swiss, injuries shouldn't count. Also is someone verifying these "positive Covid tests, they seem very convenient for teams like Everton?

Especially as, by most reports, the symptoms are no worse than a cold. Is it really the case that a footballer can’t play with a cold? Many infected people a asymptomatic - no effect whatsoever, but positive.

    It is a sick joke!

Could any one whoever saw Brian O'Neil play for Burnley, speculate how much flesh, bones and blood this dude would have left after 90 minutes on the same pitch as the Bedlington Terrier?
