    Kieran Trippier

The Telegraph and Sun are reporting that we'll confirm his signing next week.

He'd be a great first signing imo and knows Eddie Howe from when they were at Burnley

Can play left back and right back so is versatile which is a bonus

If Southampton is postponed we won't play another Premier League game until Watford on 15th January so any new signings will have time to train with the rest of the squad

That would be grand. Also gives ASM some time to heal

Perhaps Joelinton can have a word with Gabriel Barbosa.....his stats are very good / 182 goals in 361 games / 25 years old / Brazil International....

Looking forward to the first transfer window in 14 years where we're actually trying to improve rather than stand still

Is the Telegraph fairly reliable? Because I sure know the Sun isn't.
We've been linked with him for long enough though so wouldn't be surprised if it happens. I really hope it does as he alone add bags of quality and experience. He's also good at set pieces something we seem to really lack at but a huge part of Howes coaching is set pieces so someone like him would be a huge asset. I'd really like us to try and sign Ward-prowse as well I think he's a top quality midfielder who would hold his own in any of the top teams.

The Daily Star and TalkSport are also reporting he'll be signed next week. I doubt they're all wrong

Forgot about Trippier's set pieces...that's another bonus

Sends out a message of intent as well to any other possible signings, who might be waiting to see what we do.

Spanish media are now saying he's signed a contract ready to be unveiled straight away.

    Can he do that?

But he just can't formally become a toon player till the window opens?

I think that's what happened with Ferran Torres at Barca
