    O/T. Anyone keep tropical fish?

Daughter just bought a tank. Approx 4ft long. (260lt) It came with a internal filter pump but imo the pressure it send out is way strong for the fish. Is there some kind of defuser you can add to restrict the flow or a spray bar ect
    Pump is Betta 1300

Usually you can get an air diffuser for the outlet, or fit a “ duck bill” tube to the outlet to spread out the force of the water

You used to be able to buy a "U" shaped fitting with a screw in one side, just attach it to the airtube to restrict the air flow. If not, just get a "T" junction fitting and put an Airbrick on 1 end to share the output.

It's not air it's pumping m8 it's water. It's a internal filter and the force of the water is lifting the plants at the other end (4ft) of tank. New pumps look like they come with a spray bar. Approx 12 inch long but it came with the tank.

I've kept sea fish , very hard to keep .
first thing. research what you need before you buy any fish as they all need different needs. Water needs to mature before adding fish. A few over a period.
in the mean time as you don't know what you are doing, face the pump against the tank not along it..how irresponsible is it to purchase live creatures with no clue?

You will get a build up of nitrates in the water with ****e. and need to replace 25% of water weekly. with reverse osmosive water. or just chuck tap water in.

I would have thought the best advice to seek is from the store who sell the fish.
