I’ve just seen where Sidney Poitier has just died
An earlier thread was about our favourite film, Mr Poitier played Virgil Tibbs in ‘In The Heat Of The Night’
Also starred the great Rod Steiger and what a great film it is and if you haven’t seen it hunt it out.
Anybody that remembers it will probably know why I referred to him as Mr Poitier.

I liked him in To sir with love.
Although I din't see the point in them re-making it in the States some years later, and doing exactly the same story.

And Roma & SB, which future Emmerdingle actor also starred in that film with Poitier ?.

Yeah grand dad thought it was pronounced Potter lol. I wonder if he was related to filthy Potter ?. 😁

And the Emmerdingler in the Poitier film was none other than a young Eric Pollard, aka Chris Chittle.
