    Team selection for Barnet

Looking forward to the Barnet game, the only change I'm expecting is Vincent in for Brunt and, if this is the case, I'll be disappointed that Sam isn't given a start. If he's on the bench again it will surely be massively demotivating for him seeing other underperformers keeping their places come what may.

As I said on another thread.
Give wooton a rest , start with Sam & Mitchell up front and give Rodders or Robert's a free roaming role in behind them and bring Vincent back in...
I think we need a shake up to give players s wake up call and remove the guaranteed a game mentality.

Yeah we should be able to win this game even with a few changes which also might refresh the players rested mentally speaking. Then again this is Notts so who knows.

Totally agree Brunt looks slow and lacks the energy of Vincent and Sam should start hopefully, Rodrigues needs a rest looking at is past performances,, would also like to see Rawlinson in for Lacey.

A lot of good ideas in this thread

Maybe time for IB to bite the bullet on a lot of things

    ..........................Jaros
    Richardson Rawlinson Cameron Taylor
    .........................Palmer
    ..........Roberts....Vincent...O'Brien
    ...........Rodrigues (lucky!)...Sam

If Woots is being kept in for what he does in our own box, IB can have this if he wants

    ..........................Jaros
    Richardson Wootton Cameron Taylor
    .........................Palmer etc

Based on recent performances I could make a very strong case for Vincent rather than Rodrigues in the No.10 role, but I think this position could bring Rodders back to life. It's also possible to argue for Vincent ahead of Francis, but again I think the defensive midfield role naturally sits with Ed. Suffice to say, Vincent would still be very much in my plans as the alternate choice if either didn't perform.

Regarding Sam, I think attacking from the left is his second best position, with his best being as a supporting striker to Wootton, but he has shown his ability to score goals attacking from the left and he has good creative ability on the ball, so I'd like to see how he got on in this position. Defensively he's a bit suspect, which is one reason why I favour Chicksen rather than Taylor backing him up on the left side, because Adam is the stronger defender.

Would be quite happy to see this side.

Think its time for Rawlo and a more simplified style , particularly at the back

Don't think the keeper on Saturday did much wrong but that being said not sure Slocombe deserved to be dropped in the first place

We’ve barely kicked a ball for 2 months. How can anyone be in need of a rest?

It's a very good point we've hardly been Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday.

More accurately players go in and out of form so when a player is out of form for say 3 games you freshen things up and relegate them to the bench. To rest.
