    Next 2 games

Away to Southampton Thursday and Chelsea on Sunday.

This will certainly test the metal of our team,we could do with Trippier and Wilson back.

The game after is also away (on the following Thursday) against Everton.
It’s a tough set of fixtures and that’s why the 3 points against Brighton was so important.

Anything over 3 points from these next 3 games would be a a great return IMO.

You never know, we could get 7-9.

    4-6 I'd be delighted with.

1-3 points from the next two fixtures and I'd be happy with that. Over the next 3 I'd definitely be happy with 4 points a win a draw and a loss. I tend to look at the 40 point mark for safety but I think 35 points will be more than enough this season and we are only 7 points from that now. The lads just need to keep pushing and we just need to keep the faith.

I suspect our efforts may well catch up with us. We looked tired on Saturday and the players have given everything.
Southampton? Depends which Saints team turns up. Ditto Everton, ditto Spurs. They beat Man City and lost to Burnley so **** knows!

Plus, as the PL are taking the piss with 4 away games in a row (let's not pretend there weren't other options), and 70% of our points under Howe have been at home, we need to be prepared to be closer to the relegation places than we currently are by the time these 4 games are over.

Plenty of games left to get the points we need and the signs are SO much better than they were but this is still going to be tight right into the run-in.

Zip, little raincloud of doom, signing off.

We play the first 3 in the next 10 days and then we have 16 days off before the spurs game. Hopefully we should get some injured players back for spurs?

I’ll be very surprised if we don’t get beaten by Chelski and very pleased if we can just beat Ston or Everton. I’d laugh my head off if the Scouse mackems were relegated but I’m expecting them to react soon.

These last 8 matches have been way beyond what most of us would’ve expected after the 4-0 reverse against Man City so a bit room for manoeuvre even if the next 4 are a lean spell - but at least we’ve given ourselves a platform. I think the momentum is with us though and I reckon the squad will be counting down the minutes to each of those next few games.

To be honest, anything between 0 and 9 points (forget Chelski) is possible with this team.

I think that's all we can wish for. A team that can compete.

In the past, we could not have ever expected more than 0pts.
