    Furlong - Consistently Poor

Whilst Mowatt has gone missing of late, Robinson does not want to get his shorts dirty, I would say Furlong consistently looks poor - poor passing - poor throw ins etc and looking like a league 1 player! I do think Furlong needs dropping as clearly not good enough!

I despair with any rebuild as all the dross will still be here next year - Furlong - Mowatt - Livermore - Bartley - Robinson.

Carroll has received some stick and whilst he’s not the answer - he does not go missing and gives 100% as he did again last night!

Seems ironic that our best player at the moment is a 20 year old! Until our midfield is sorted then we can never progress as too pedestrian!

PS - can’t see any Premier club wanting Johnstone unless free and a number 2 on his poor form! Surely if he’s going we need to recall Griffiths and start playing Button! How many times does Johnstone f uck about with the ball - does he never learn!

I love Furlong, I think he's one of our best players and that he more than did well in the Prem last year. The fact that he's involved so much all over the pitch probably means when he does things wrong that's noticed too. Bags of passion, bags of energy, been behind a lot of the goals. Don't understand the comment.

You loved Val and he squeezed every inch of energy out of the players - you loved the welsh international albeit he tried but was not good enough and now you love Furlong. You must see different matches from me - of late Furlong has been poor and was extremely poor last night and even the stats say the defender had 46 touches of the ball yesterday but could only complete 16 of the 29 passes he attempted, which is fewer than goalkeeper Sam Johnstone (18) managed to make.

Whilst Regis made some excellent points about what’s going on in the world ie Yemen you came out with a very insensitive post - get the Violins out regarding Ukraine and the US/U.K. have bombed hospitals too. I don’t remember the US/U.K. bombing over 20 hospitals strategically and targeting civilians purposely!!! The US/U.K. would not strategically massacre over 1500 civilians in one city alone and trap them in buildings without food or water. Putin is another Hitler and that’s clear to see!

My response to a good debate with Regis was measured in that of course more should be done around the world but neighbouring rich countries should be pressured to help with this. I also believe the West have created many of their own problems through allowing money laundering to go on in London and corruption even in our government and royal family.

But violins you say for what’s going on in Ukraine - sorry but that’s sick!

You clearly don’t like Andy Carroll but hey - he’s not the best but he’s given more effort than the majority. As for Steve Bruce you call a dinosaur - well had you been at Hull you would have seen the fans singing his name. Klopp would make no difference to our squad as they simply have no quality so whilst Bruce is only a stop gap - most fans see this! The beloved Val would not have changed things so drastically last night to rescue a point that’s for certain!

I bid you a good weekend and hope you reflect on your poor wording of the Ukraine debate with innocent European women and children purposefully being murdered!

Generally liked Furlong myself, and, yes, he puts himself about but no real denying that his quality in terms of tackles/ loss of possession/ passing has been poor in recent games as the stats support. He is not the only one though. It's going to be a big mountain to climb.

That’s untrue as other posters/supporters have said the form of Furlong of late has been consistently poor! You have slated Carroll and Bruce - why? I am not a big fan of Carroll myself but to be fair he’s put in more effort than almost every other player! As for Bruce at the away games I have been to the supporters have completely acknowledged he’s not Klopp and doing a decent job with the mess left by Val.

No surprise one of the best players at the club is a 20 year old. What does that tell us?

    Furlong:

I like his attitude, work rate, endeavour, persistence etc.

He is a very good athlete.

But, his athleticism is what makes him and saves him as a footballer.

As a footballer there are quite a few deficits: passes, deliveries, tackles, positioning, technical abilities, football brain etc, etc, etc.

But he is not the first, nor last, to make a football career through athleticism.
