    Hibs - Judgement Day

It’s been a bit of a strange season.

Started well and had great momentum early on

Enjoyable matches and wins against Sevco, Motherwell, Aberdeen and Hibs

I don’t know if it was changing the team too much from a winning formula but we seemed to lose a lot of momentum

After we conceded the late goal at Ross Co the performances seemed to get worse and we had a real bad time

The arrival of Watt made a big difference - as Mulgrew had made a boost at the start of the season

The home win v Motherwell with Clark late winner helped get us going a bit and then we had the McNulty late winner again on Saturday

So we play Hibs on 2nd April and it seems to me this is Judgement Day

I actually don’t fancy as much as usual leaving something needed in the Derby

Also Hibs are our big rivals for the top 6 and I think this will be the decisive match.

A win v Hibs and all but mathematically certain that we will be top 6

If we get top 6 then the season has been a success and we can look to press on to Europe

If we lose then it could be bottom 6 and all we could have to look forward to is playing Dundee twice in the league before they inevitably go down - which is not what we are about

United are a club that should look to be in Europe most seasons, in the top 6 and contesting near the top part of the league

This is a massive match - apart from the cups probably biggest match of season so far

After the formation didn’t really work v St Mirren I think we may line up

    Benji

    Smith Graham Mulgrew Edwards Niskanen

    Butcher Levitt McDonald

    McNulty Watt

    THIS IS WHEN IT MATTERS

    COME ON UNITED !!

I'll be there - I agree, essentially our season has come down to two games. Seven teams can still make the top six and that is surely unheard of...

A point would set us up for the Derby. Three would make the Derby tasty, as a win there would secure top six absolutely and put us in a strong place for fourth.

Thanks to the win Saturday we can still make top 6 regardless of what happens at Easter road, win, lose or draw, coming away without losing would be a very decent outcome

A win is what we should be going for to build momentum and with top 5 getting Europe (unless Hibs win the Cup I believe) then its there for us, I want 4th of course, the financial rewards would be huge this season and really boost us but yea can't look ahead too far ahead as we need to make sure we are in the top half

If we do secure top six then it's just continued season on season progress since the new owner etc took over and will see us back in the top half did first time since 2015 and for a tenth time overall, club is night abs day in all ways since they came in

All the win on Saturday did for us was getting into pole position for the last 2 games and i dont think you have looked any further than your positivity will allow!

To bring a bit of balance instead of the usual positive/negative, win and other results go our way and its joab done and we can go into the Derby on a high. Loose and other results go against us and Hibs/Livi go ahead and its 2 points to cover 6 teams. Take that into a nervous Derby and loose again with other results and 3 out of 4 teams could finish above us!

I thought i saw that Edwards has totted up on bookings so for me its,
    Benji
    Butcher, Mulgrew, Graham
    Freeman, Smith, McDonald, Levitt, Niskanen,
    Watt, McNumpty.

Gonna be a long 11 days!

Hibs are powder puff in front of goal, worse than us in recent times. They have failed to score in 6 of their last 8 league games. And one of the 2 games they scored it was an OG. Nothing to fear going to Easter Road and getting something out of it.
