    Lightbulb It's Us or Everton...

No messing about, no need for daft predictions or overthinking, it's either us or Everton for the drop.

Looking at the betting, the money says it's us and not Everton going down. Looking at the fixtures I'm not so sure. Even with the United game out of the way, they still have a far harder run in than us, the average league position of the teams they still have to play is 9th, for us it's somewhere between 12th and 13th. They have just three teams to play in the bottom half, Watford, Brentford and Palace, we have five, Southampton, Watford, Newcastle and Villa twice.

Down to us, it's in our own hands, they have three points and a game in hand on us, we have by far the easier run in. If we're good enough we'll stay up. Simple as.

Let’s hope that the team turn up against Southampton and play like they did at times against West Ham and Everton. I would love to be at Turf Moor to cheer them on, but cannot be there. I hope the crowd gets behind the players and make it hostile for the Saints. Hopefully, too, our strikers will take their chances.

I’ve just seen in Clarets Player that the U23’s have scored 11 goals in the last three matches. Is nobody in that group worthy of a chance in the first team squad? Enthusiasm, pace, fearlessness?
