Two Managers for me this season who have earned respect

For me my first choice is Mikel Arteta at Arsenal.

Earlier in the season their fans wanted his head but, boy has he turned things around. He has calmly and astutely definitely turned things around and his team now sit proudly 4th in the Premiership hoping to secure a European Championship place.

He has seen off big name players who thought they were bigger and better than the club, well against the demand of the fans.
He seems composed and has the team play some slick passing football that they are known for. In essence I see him as a younger version of Wenger without the sulking. Good luck to him for the rest of the season and hope Arsenal do make the top four.

My second choice is Wayne Rooney, yes Rooney. Some hate him for his mardy outgoing personality but, what he almost achieved this season, has been commendable. We once had a Manager in Mark Robins who turned around a minus 17 point deficit and we stayed up. I think a minus 21 point deduction, unable to buy players because of sanctions, an absolute nightmare of ownership and the total farce of a takeover have dramatically impacted on Rooney's achievement this season.

They would have been safe by now and you only have to wonder what he may have achieved with a good backing from a Chairman, from what is a very big club.

What Managers have caught your attention who you think have earned respect?

Most of them struggle to earn their wages let alone respect.

If I had to pick one I would go for the Chelsea manager, sticking his ground against the show ponies at the club that thought they were in charge.

New Man U manager needs to do the same there

Indeed, a total clear out is what is required at Man Utd, starting with De Gea, Pogba and Maguire.

Rooney I don't dislike anyway. Derby are a club get right owners in potentially a top championship side cause of that he's stayed. He's got a football brain he'll have realised there aren't many jobs like he's got now about also get in premiership you aren't going to compete with the top clubs there.

Mark Robin's did keep us in the EFL after starting 1st season at DV on -17 pts but left us for I'd say not much of a bigger club in Barnsley.

Nigel Clough he's a manager I rate proving it again at Mansfield.

    Eddie Howe.
Newcastle had not won a game all season when he took over. They are now in the top half and he has turned Joelinton into a world class midfielder.

The one that stands out for me is Neil Critchley at Blackpool, I honestly thought they would have been the whipping boys of the championship, but even if Derby and Reading hadn't had points deducted they would still have stayed up comfortably, remarkable job.
The other manager for me is Thomas Frank at Brentford, he's had them go toe to toe with everyone in the top flight and another team that I thought would have been whipping boys for the premier league and they have been brilliant to watch everytime I've seen them, including yesterday when they very nearly beat spurs. Steve Cooper at Forest
    Nathan Jones at Luton
    Gary Rowett at Millwall.

Have all done great jobs. The later 2 on budgets and crowd sizes similar to ours. Can we send someone to coax their secrets out of them?

    Mark Bonner at Cambridge.
Done a cracking job and great post match interviews which are refreshingly honest.

I also think the way Arteta dealt with Aubameyang was admirable as well.
