    Matt Targett

He's another player that has really surprised me recently. I never rated him at Villa but certainly do now. I think they'd be nuts to sell him to us in the summer but if he wants to come permanently they'll have to accept a reasonable bid from us you would think

Well apparently the clause is for £15 million.

I've seen a lot of Villa fans saying he's the weakest link in their team when he plays and that he comes badly unstuck when up against a speedy winger.

Well, that may be the case-and Villa fans have seen a lot more of him than we have- but he's been very good for us and, sometimes, a player is just the right fit for a club. Let's not forget, Danny Simpson won a league title despite being little more than 'solid'.

For the stage where we're at in our rebuild, Matt Target is a solid player and he'll do for me, especially at £15 mil.

Really like him and he'd be a player I would definitely try and sign but I'd be signing him as a backup LB that's the sort of quality we need on our bench in my opinion. I do think because we've been so poor in that area for such a long time he probably seems a slightly better player than he actually is. He's a solid Prem LB who I'd definitely sign but the way this club want to move I'd be looking at signing someone a lot better and faster as our first choice LB.

Villa fans he was actually named their player of the season last season.

i think he has been a quality signing for us, Eddie has turned a bunch of no hopers into gutsy neverending fighters.

If the season started in January, we would be second in the table, a cert for a title challenge and CL spot

For £15 million I'd bite their hand off for him.

He's been brilliant for us, just pure solid and he seems to be enjoying his time here as well.

£15m is a no brainier. It solves a long term problem while leaving us to concentrate on bigger unsolved problems like a fooooookin STRIKER.

Wood is not the answer. Neither is matchstick man Wilson.

Agreed, Trini. A striker is the number one priority.

    Then a right-sided attacking player, a creative mid and a top-notch CB.
