    Vincent Kompany

On our short-list according to the Telegraph. Maybe, but I would think this is a million miles away from happening.

We need to concentrate on staying in the EPL, we can fart about trying to replace Dyche in the summer.

I'm sure it will be for summer, they'd be mad to appoint anyone now, and Kompany won't even answer the phone until he knows what level we're playing next season.

We decided as a family to renew our Season Tickets for next season and duly did so. After parting company with over a thousand crisp ones we went into the Park View to settle our nerves.

General consensus from a dozen Clarets fans is Rooney and I think he would make the perfect fit for us.

I've been very impressed with his dedication and loyalty towards the Rams. Wayne and Jacko 1 & 2 anyone?

Footnote for sinkov: The racing was on TV, don't ask me why, but I put £30.00 to win on Broomfield at Uncle Joe's next door and £20.00 to win on Magic Daze. Mrs BT was in shock and awe, and asked why we don't go drinking and betting more often.

Be careful what you wish for eh mon ami?

The winnings certainly softened the cost of 4 Season Tickets!

I used to think that Wayne Rooney was your archetypal thick footballer. Until, that is I saw a Sky programme where he was interviewed at length and he was very impressive I thought. I would much rather have him in charge than one of those merry go round managers - Fat Sam; Bruce; Pardew etc etc.

We may be a limited company but I can’t see Vincent Kompany wanting to be in our company knowing the kind of company, present company excepted, we keep company with. As for leaving his current job at Anderlecht I won’t believe he has left until he packs up all his belongings into the removal vehicle and they post a sign in the club shop window saying “Vincent’s Van Gone”. Jacko is in charge and should remain so for the rest of the season.

£50 on two nags ? FFS mon ami, I'll have backed a lot of horses before I've handed that much over to Bet365. Last week my Big Field Handicap System picked out 4 for the Irish National, 3 of them were between 10/1 and 20/1 and I happily backed them, the 4th one Lord Lariat looked a right no-hoper, 66/1 on most books, but Bet365 were even less convinced, I could have 80/1 with them. I wasn't going to bother, but just thought, go on then, a quid EW at 80/1 can't do any harm. It got backed in to 40/1 and won quite comfortably.

Biggest priced winner I've ever backed, previous one was Private Audition winning the Ceserawitch in 1987, I got 75/1 on the Tote. You've got to be patient if you want big priced winners on the gee-gees.

I used to think Rooney was Mr. Numbnuts til I started watching him more closely, he's got one hell of a footballing brain and can really read a game. As a player he was brilliant but as a manager I'm not sure. Points deduction aside Derby haven't achieved much.
