    Championship to League one parachute payments?

    I never knew that happened, does it? Or am I not reading it right?

    Just been nosing (actually it was highlighted by a fan) on Andy Holt (Stanley) twitter who mentions us.

    More and more owners are waking up.

    My mate
    @DMAC102
    went up to
    @SkyBetChamp
    with
    @theposh

    It will have killed him to accept that running the club sensibly meant chances of remaining in champ were low..

    ..he’s a winner.

    sit on the boundary, going up and down

    ..taking dough, getting parachute payments, Tony does a tremendous job there.

    Norwich, Fulham, up and down, win one season lose the next.

    Football is BROKEN.

    A man on a galloping horse can see this.

    We need change and the only hope is
    @tracey_crouch
    fan led review.

    He is always abit outspoken,I think its way he puts things and the platform he uses rather than the actual content….but yes it does happen right through the leagues,when you drop out of the football league you get something for two years….clearly the amount obviously goes down the scale and not sure how much it is…I don’t think it’s the parachute payments that are instrumental with us although they help.but it’s the tv money which is the dramatic change for us..

    Yeah I’ve just read up on it, wouldn’t actually call it parachute payment, more like a packet of peanuts

    Still Andy makes it sound like we roll in it

    He has lots of opinions on lots of every day and relevent stuff.

    He calls a spade a spade and doesn't hold back. He includes the person or organisations into his comments but they rarely respond.

    The work he has done at Stanley is great and for the side of club they're well run and a credit to the town.

    One comment he made this morning was that the parachute money wasn't the fault of a club but the fault of the system.

    I wished that all chairmen would be as open and as critical of the EFL and the Premiership. He interacts well with supporters of any club. He's hated by Tranmere fans with a passion since their relegation and Wigan fans aren't too friendley either.

    Clubs relegated from the EFL Championship receive*11.1% of the Basic Award payment to Championship clubs for one season. Clubs relegated from EFL League One receive 12.6% of the Basic Award payment to League One clubs for one season.

    Plus on the Prem to Championship payments there are some checks and balances in place to make sure a team aren't at a greater advantage by yo-yoing like Norwich have been doing. If for example the 3 years parachutes were 50M, 30M, 10M going down, up, down doesn't get you 50M, 0M, 50M again it gets you 50M, 0M, 10M.

    If the relegated club eg Norwich go straight back up(as usual) didn't the parachute payment get shared out by the remaining teams?

    Or have I had too much cheese and dreamed it???
