3rd favourite apparently ?
Thoughts ?
I’ll gladly drive him there if he wants
So would I...but...
I still think it's irrelevant. The owners have, in my opinion, specified a specific style they want and the manager is doing what he is told.
Unless the brothers change this, the next guy in will end up doing the same things.
I might be wrong and it may be down to Burchnall (all this to me, to you and no plan B ) but I think it comes from higher up.
That's great but who are you picking up and driving back to Meadow Lane?
If that really is the case - and I also suspect it is - I don't think we'll do much better than Birchnall. He's highly regarded as a talented young coach.
The problem is the style of football and, to an extent, the recruitment. If the club's philosophy truly has no place for a hardman midfielder or direct football even as a plan B, I doubt we'll ever win this league.
We don't need a massive change in philosophy. We just need to tweak what we already have. It's frustrating because we're close to something good. If you could take the best aspects of our current style and add a bit of bite to it, we'd be something to contend with.
From a Lincoln City fan forum.
"Someone is clearly punting on Burchnall for him to be that price. His involvement with Potter and Ostersunds is interesting (one of, if not THE best English coach out there?) but surely he hasn't done enough at Notts County to be considered for a L1 job. Passing style but it sounds like the fans were pretty restless about him at NL level! Being one of the favourites seems crazy."
Another fan replied
Notts won last weekend and got boo'd off the pitch!
And one more...
Yeah, I'm not sure where this link has come from, but Notts are distinctly underwhelming (for a club of its size) at the moment and I can't imaging this guy would be on our radar.
