    ER this Wednesday

Home game at ER, got to make the most of it, so need full 90 mins of energy, passion, commitment. It wont happen, but need both Rodrigo & Gelhardt up front, Raph / James out wide, where they should be.
Strong case for Cresswell, Bate, Hjelde , Mckinstry to play a part, too many so called 1st teamers way off the pace, looking uninterested, downbeat or just past their best.

Thought Llorente, Koch and Struijk did okay in the circumstances. Agree Bate should get time and Joffy.

I wonder if 4 3 3 might suit pressing better but that won’t narrow the pitch in the way JM likes - just hope Chelsea are as casual to begin with as they were v Everton but I suspect they will come at us full bore.

I don’t think our players didn’t try against Arsenal just that they got overwhelmed.

Harrison is a great example - he ran his socks off but often to little effect or just took wrong options with the ball. The better sides in the prem exploit weakness ruthlessly.

Bate needs to start, Firpo maybe as left winger with Helde behind him - he gives us something at set pieces - flicked on the corner for Llorente's goal, and also set up via another header the last minute chance for Rod, haven't seen too many others winning headers from our corners, so to me a good tactic would be to play Koch, Struijk. Llorrente, and Helde, with Bate, Philips and Firpo, then Geldahd James and Rodrigo. and play to stiffle Chelsea, and hope to get something mainly from breaks or set pieces - using all the height we have, a win would be brilkant but might get a point that way - Chelsea won't want any injuries midweek.

Weve tried the five wingers etc , so a change inntactics might catch Chelsea out -- a little like Everton have done recently??

    What's to lose?
