O/T Isle of Man TT: Father and Son killed in sidecar crash

There isn't a year goes by where someone is not killed in the Tourist Trophy races.

That's five in total so far and it's not finished yet. Why does the motorsport governing body allow such tragic losses as this, year in year out?

You've really got to feel for Roger and Bradley Stockton' family, what must they be going though at this moment in time?

For young Bradley Stockton, this was his first year in entering the competition. He was only 21 years of age.

Lived fast and die young is a tragic under statement in his case.

Sad but it’s not a compulsory sport.

Basically blood money for the Isle of Man economy

Tragic but nobody forces them to do it. Guy Martin is lucky to be alive after his smash there and continues to pay a lot of money to continue taking part in these events.

I can't think of another sporting event where deaths are almost certain every time it is held.I have no interest in the sport what so ever but banning it,which is a view held my many, would be entering dangerous territory. What is sometimes forgotten is that spectators are at risk too.

For horses yes the risks are high but, I’ve never heard of a spectator at the GN being killed or injured?

You know as well as I do that’s not what I meant.

It’s the dogs that get kicked when the mug punters get home from big losses

There have been 15 Equine deaths at the Grand National since 2000 and 68 Human deaths at the TT races since 2000 plus 6 more (Stewards,spectators,officials.....all human I presume) bringing the total to 74.

Except, the horses are forced to race, the bikers aren't
