    The Borefest drags on

Another 90 minutes dross from England, with Tripps again out of his depth on the left. In fact he's embarrassing, one glorious moment when he was set free to get a left footed cross in, but he didn't do it, he turned back onto his favoured right foot. What is the point of playing a wing back on the left, who will not, cannot, centre a ball with his left foot ? Grealish must be asking the same question, he can fanny about all he likes on the left wing, but it's to no avail when his wing back doesn't want to go past him into the space he's creating, or when he does, can do nothing but turn and play the ball back to the half way line.

And the excuses, from Gareth and some journos, Oliver Brown in the Telegraph, " The lack of sharpness was painful to behold, not least when Sterling ballooned over with the goal at his mercy. The exhaustion of these players, ground down by marathon domestic campaigns, was self-evident."

It's bollox, our players have no more of an exacting schedule than the rest of Europe's elite, and in some cases they have it easier. Take England's City contingent, tired out the poor dears, Foden 36 starts for City, Sterling 32, Grealish 31, Walker 31, Stones 24. If they're tired, how must Bernado Silva be feeling, 46 starts, or Rodri 45, or Laporte 43, or De Bruyne 39, or Dias 37 ? It's the foreign players doing the heavy lifting for Pep at City, not Gareth's blue-eyed boys.

Harry's knackered as well, he can hardly raise a gallop after a long hard season of 47 starts at Tottenham, but should he feel hard done by when Lewandowski started 46 times for Bayern, Benzema 45 for Real Madrid and Mbappe 42 for PSG ? if Harry is tired, then going to play for a big club abroad is hardly going to help him is it ?

Henderson 43 starts and AA, 47, had long hard seasons at Liverpool, but so did Van Dijk 51, Mane 46, and Salah 45. Elsewhere in Europe, Modric had 40 starts for Real Madrid, Busquets 49 for Barcelona, De Jong 41, Thomas Muller 44 for Bayern, Kimmich 39 and Perisic 46 for Inter. Are all these players tired out, or just ours ?

Some other England numbers, Mount 41 starts, Maguire, 35, James 31, Phillips 21, and two players who really highlight what a load of bollox this all is, Rice and Bowen look to have more energy than all the rest of the squad put together, they've had 48 and 45 starts respectively for West Ham, maybe Moyes knows how to get his players fit and keep them fit ?

Whatever, I think I know why England are ****e, and it's nothing to do with fatigue.

We are in a mess everywhere you look mon ami, we have a totally inept England manager who will not give Nick Pope the time of day and a Tory minister who can’t even tell the difference between Blackpool or Birmingham and describes anywhere north of the M25 as "somewhere godawful’. A clueless England boss and an offensive government who have not the first idea about "levelling up", mind you look at the state of the person who refers to Birmingham and Blackpool as "Godawful" .

The quite lovely Ms Heather Wheeler...

Good post Sinkov , I think in a way your highlight just shows that our Gareth is feeling the pinch, he says we’re too reliant on Kane but never plays anyone else for a meaningful amount of time , he also never changes shape to help us win games.

Sounds a bit similar to our ex manager really just keep doing the same things and hope it works - like I said I think Gareth is just getting found out

He hardly has any managerial pedigree except in his wokeness.

Another thing about Gareth that gets on my wick, all the world and his wife can see that Tripps at left back doesn't work, but what can he do, this is what Sam Wallace says, " Kieran Trippier did his best to fill the gap at left-back where Southgate does not presently have a fit specialist."

Sorry Sam, you're being sucked in by Gareth's BS, he does have a fit specialist left-footed left-back, he plays in the 10th best defence in the PL, in a defence that has conceded fewer goal's than Maguire's United defence has, he can get down the left and get a cross in as well as any in the Premier League, he copes week in, week out, with far better attacking players than anything Italy's B team have to offer, but for whatever reason Gareth doesn't want to know, he prefers the hapless right-footed Trippier to Charlie, which just illustrates what a clueless, useless manager our national team has.

Any road, enjoy your jollies Charlie, you're better off on the beach than getting involved in this shambles.

Cant wait to see all the knee taking and rainbow flags and armbands in Qatar-the situation perfectly sums up the hypocrites in charge of football.

Gareth was dismayed by the booing in Hungary, he said they just wanted to educate people. Never mind the patronising arrogance of Southgate and his millionaire footballers assuming the role of educators, if they really did want to educate then what better way than to refuse to play in Qatar ?

But that would hit the virtue-signalling w@nkers in the pocket, so that's right out of the question isn't it.

The hypocrisy is f*cking tragic sinkov, it really is.

Southgate needs to stop worrying about racism and "educating" eastern bloc countries who don't give a flying f*ck, and start working out how to get some of his team's balls in the back of the onion bag.

I watched the under 21's this eve expecting something exciting and heartwarming after the dross of Southgate's underachievers. The pundits were praising their achievements, 54 competitive games without defeat, it all sounded promising, then the match; sideways passing, backwards passing, plenty of possession but no creativity upfront. All too depressingly familiar. The poison is spreading. The baffling thing is how they have not been beaten before?
